The Emmy-nominated Colombian journalist has been an anchor with CNN Español since its founding in 1997. She joined CNN in 1992, where she hosted the Noticiero Telemundo CNN. Before becoming a journalist, Janiot was the first-runner up on Miss Colombia pageant in 1983. Janiot is president of a foundation called Colombianitos, which helps children who are victims of the Colombian armed conflict. She studied Social Communication at Universidad de la Sabana in Bogotá.
