H.E. Mrs. Mariam Mahamat Nour is the Minister of Economy and Development Planning, Republic of Chad and Governor for the WBG. Mrs. Nour held senior positions in government, international NGOs, as well as with UNDP, UNICEF, and ILO.
Mrs. Nour graduated in Economics from the University of Cộte d’Ivoire (1985-1987). She joined the government of Chad as Secretary of State, Ministry of Planning & Finance (1990-1992) and became Minister of Planning & International Cooperation (1994-1996), Minister, Secretary General of the Government in 1996, Minister of Environment & Water (1996-1998). She then left the Government to take a position of Resident Representative, FAO Togo, Mali and Mauritania (1999-2013). She returned to Government as Minister of Planning and International Cooperation (2013-2016). In 2016, she was reappointed as Minister of Planning and Prospective and then to her current position.
In her position, Minister Nour has promoted the integration of the large refugee and IDP population in Chad working closely with her own government, civil society and the international community. She currently presides over the Ministerial Committee of the G5 Sahel.
