Mr. Imad N. Fakhoury serves as Minister of Planning & International Cooperation and Chairperson for Economic Development Cabinet Committee. He has also been serving as Chairperson of King Abdullah II Fund for Development since October 2014. Prior to that, Minister Fakhoury was a Senator in Jordanian parliament ordinary session of 2014/2015. He has served as Chief of Staff/Director of Office of His Majesty King Abdullah II at the Royal Hashemite Court and prior to that as Minister of Public Sector Development and Minister of State for Mega Projects. He has chaired the Public Sector Development Committee, Infrastructure and Mega Projects Committee, and the Civil Service Council & National Training Institute. He is former member of World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on MENA. Mr. Fakhoury was awarded the Al Hussein Medal by King Abdullah II (2008) and is a recipient of the Eisenhower Fellowship (2002).
Mr. Fakhoury has also held numerous other positions, including: 1992-95, Regional Policy Manager at the Bureau for Arab States, UNDP, NY; 1995-99, Director, Research and Economic Affairs on Peace Process, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; 1999-2000, President and COO, CIG; 2000-02 and 2004-05, Deputy Chief Commissioner & Commissioner, Investment and Economic Dev., Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority; 2005-09, Chairman & CEO, Aqaba Dev. Corp.
Mr. Fakhoury holds a BSc and a MSc in Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, a Master’s Degree in Public Policy (MPP) from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and an executive MBA degree from Kellogg Business School at Northwestern University.
