Ernesto Max Elias Tonela is the Minister of Economy and Finance of Mozambique since March 2022. Tonela served as Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy from December 2017 to March 2022. Previously he served as the finance director of Electricidade de Moçambique (EdM) and was formerly the Administrator of Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa (HCB).
