Dr. Wong is a United States Fulbright Senior Scholar at the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. Dr. Wong is working on helping institutionalize ecosystem service assessments in China to advance sustainable development. Her current research is on evaluating China’s governance reforms for constructing China’s Ecological Civilization. In particular she is analyzing China’s national zoning plan known as the Ecological Redline Policy. She has published her research in leading scientific journals like Nature Communications and Ecology Letters. She has presented on ecosystem services and green growth strategies to government agencies and universities in the United States and China, and international multilateral organizations. Dr. Wong has served on the board of directors of several major U.S. environmental NGOs, such as the Student Conservation Association and the Wilderness Society. Dr. Wong holds a Ph.D. in Sustainability from Arizona State University, and B.A. in Biology from Occidental College.
