Antonio Caño is the Editor-in-Chief of the major global newspaper in Spanish, EL PAIS, which is the top news reference in the Spanish-speaking world. He is also a regular speaker on Latin America and foreign affairs in major US, Latin America and European television programs and conferences. Prior to this position, Antonio was Bureau Chief of EL PAIS in Washington DC for over 10 years and correspondent in Mexico and Central America. He has also held the positions of chief editor of the International Section, deputy head of the Sunday edition, and head of the Research and Analysis Section. During his career, he has covered, among other events, the wars in the Persian Gulf, Falkland Islands (Malvinas), Chad and El Salvador, the revolt against Pinochet in Chile, the fall of the Sandinistas in Nicaragua and four presidential elections in the United States. He has interviewed numerous presidents and heads of State including Barack Obama. He launched the America Edition of EL PAIS. Today, EL PAIS reaches about 17 million unique users every month.
