Gaelle Fohr leads UNICEF’s sanitation and hygiene work in West and Central Africa based in Dakar, Senegal. She has more than 10 years of global experience working on issues of water, sanitation and hygiene. Within UNICEF, Gaelle supported both emergency operations in Haiti, Somalia and Central African Republic and Sanitation program at Scale in Zambia developing national protocols, monitoring tools and mentoring and coaching national counterparts. Prior to UNICEF, Gaelle worked with the French Ministry of Health in French Guiana and Reunion Island supporting hygiene education programs and at scale social mobilization to respond to water and vector-borne diseases such as respectively cholera and Chikungunya. She has a master’s in Water Science and technologies and a master’s in Environmental Health.
