Abir Lemseffer, Director General of Morocco Foodex and Director General of the Initiative for the Adaptation of African Agriculture to Climate Change.

Since February 2018, Abir Lemseffer is Director General of Morocco Foodex (Etablissement Autonome de Contrôle et de Coordination des Exportations), a Moroccan governmental institution founded in 1986 to support and develop fruit and vegetables, processed agriculture products and seafood products exports. She is also Director General of the Initiative for the Adaptation of African Agriculture to Climate Change. Launched in 2016, the AAA Initiative aims to reduce the vulnerability of Africa and its agriculture to climate change by supporting knowledge exchange, policy making and climate-smart agriculture investment plans. 

Prior to joining Morocco Foodex, Ms. Lemseffer was in charge of the implementation of the Plan Maroc Vert strategy, Morocco’s sustainable agriculture strategy, and oversaw relations with European institutions and multilateral development banks on agriculture and fisheries issues within the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.

She holds an MBA from ESSEC, Paris and has experience in consulting and investment banking. Ms. Lemseffer was born in Casablanca.
